Motorola re-entered the Indian market with its popular Moto series, sold exclusively on Flipkart. It was soon followed by Xiaomi and OnePlus and several others who opted for online channels. Recent reports claim Xiaomi plans to go offline, but looks like Mototrola has no such plans.
According to a report by The Times of India, Amit Boni, the India business head of Motorola said the company would continue its exclusive partnership with Flipkart and has ‘no immediate plan to sell its smartphones through retail stores’ here.
He said that a company looks into other sales channels only when their current channel isn’t ‘sound enough’.
Though the company doesn’t plan to go offline, it has opened the first ‘Moto Care’ flagship center in India. Located on Jayanagar road, Bangalore, the Moto Care center is spread across 3000 sq. ft. and claims to provide best-in-class service and support to customers.
It comes with a service and support area, offering users a walk-in service experience with highly trained support staff. There’s also an Experience Zone that will allow consumers to experience the product. This area at the centre will showcase the entire product portfolio – Moto X (including leather and wood versions), Moto G, Moto E, Moto Turbo, Motorola Nexus and Moto 360. It will further guide users on how to purchase the device via Flipkart.
